The Best Months for Outdoor Photography in South Florida

Even though the weather is beautiful a lot of the time, there are definitely best months for outdoor photography in South Florida. In my experience as a fine art photographer living and working in Florida, I have found that January through June are the best months to book your outdoor photo sessions. 

What Makes These Months Better?

Though Florida is known for its warm weather year-round, there are some downsides to the Sunshine State. For one thing, the summertime in Florida can be pretty brutal. The heat is unrelenting, and the humidity can reach its ultimate levels. Not only would those factors make being outside in general not fun, but to be dolled up for a family photoshoot? Not ideal!

Additionally, hurricane season in Florida is prevalent mostly in the Summertime. The last thing you’d want to deal with is planning our session for weeks or months, only to have to reschedule at the last minute because of bad weather. I advise clients to be mindful of the realities of hurricane season, and keep expectations in mind when planning our session together! 

A final reason why January through June are the best months for outdoor photography in South Florida is the beaches! During these months, the wind on our gorgeous coastline is not as strong as it gets in the Summertime. If you’re looking for a dreamy, fine art lifestyle photography session on the beach, you don’t want to be battling high winds. I like to keep all these things in mind when working with clients who want outdoor photos; I want to provide the best possible experience!
