My Favorite Backdrops for Timeless Studio Photography Sessions

When it comes to creating the most beautiful studio photography, there is something you always need: a gorgeous backdrop. This might not be the first thing that pops into your mind, but I promise you, it is so important. Creating a tranquil, serene studio space is a huge part of the creative process for photographers, and that includes a backdrop that will go with the flow of each and every session, along with styling. 

A lot of photographers, myself included, create their own backdrops. It’s just another fun creative outlet, plus it ensures that the decor and styling is right for every family, every time. When I’m choosing color schemes for backdrops, I like to keep it simple. Neutral tones, simple design and soft palettes are the key. The atmosphere for the studio is one that is meant to be inviting, cozy and calm. 

Backdrops are meant to be that: backdrops! They should never take away from who is in the photographs. Make sure that whatever is behind the clients enhances their styling and their connections, not take away from it.
