How To Plan Your Baby Shower | Palm Beach Photographer

As a mama and Palm Beach photographer, I know just how stressful pregnancy can be. Between the doctor’s appointments, designing the nursery, and getting everything your baby needs, the last thing on your mind is the baby shower. I love baby showers; they’re a time during your pregnancy where all the focus is on you and what you (and your little one) needs. It’s a wonderful celebration that can be peaceful, and a wonderful way to stock up on all the must-haves for your child. I wanted to share the three most important tips for planning your baby shower, so you can enjoy the day and relax! 

1. Choose Your Venue 

Choosing the location of the shower can seem like a daunting task. Knowing where your venue is will determine the theme and overall feel of the shower, so it’s definitely the most important first step! My incredible associate photographer recently shot a stunning baby shower at the gorgeous French restaurant Cafe Boulud. One of the true gems of the Palm Beach area, Cafe Boulud is a breathtaking venue for a baby shower. The decor is classic and elegant, and the food is just divine. There are so many beautiful restaurants to host your baby shower, and Cafe Boulud should absolutely be one on your list. 

2. Pick The Theme

The theme determines the decor and invitations, so of course this is a key aspect of the planning process. The theme of this baby shower was timeless beauty with stunning pops of color– classic and elegant. It was a gorgeous display with contemporary elements to make it feel modern, but not cold. I would call it Parisian Chic. The guests wore upscale attire to match the garden party aesthetic. Some other popular themes for timeless showers:

• French Countryside (think Le Petit Prince)
• Rustic Farmhouse
• Cool Toned Modern 

It’s so important to have a theme conducive to your lifestyle and setting, one that is clear to see and understand. Another thing to keep in mind is how classic or modern you want to take it. What matters most is how you’ll feel when looking back at this wonderful celebration– you want to make sure it’ll stand the test of time. 

3. Set The Date

Just like when it comes to scheduling your maternity and newborn sessions, you want to make sure your bump is visible during your baby shower! The celebration is all about you, motherhood, and your little one. I recommend setting a shower during the second trimester so that you can really embrace your pregnancy. There are so many stunning maternity gowns to choose from that highlight and accentuate your baby bump. Selecting when the shower is will determine the stage of pregnancy you’re going to share with the ones you love the most, to celebrate your journey into becoming a mother.
